Financial Aid + Scholarships
Financial aid is available to help you achieve your educational goals. The CCC Financial Aid office provides access to grants, scholarships, work-study and loans to help pay for school. You must fill out the FAFSA or ORSAA application (if applicable), each year you attend college to qualify to receive financial aid. The FAFSA and ORSAA open on Oct. 1 each year and must be completed annually. Please see Admissions and Financial Aid below for eligibility requirements.
Complete your FAFSA/ORSAA application as early as possible and add CCC's school code (004878). Once completed, it can take up to a week to electronically process into our system; watch your CCC student email and Self Service for your next step directions. For help filling out your Application, visit the Financial Aid Resource Lab.
The Financial Aid application process
Apply for admission to CCC.
Log in to your email through myClackamas. Check your email weekly for requests for information from the financial aid office. Monitor Self-Service: detail into your Financial Aid portal to review any required document(s) and the status of your financial aid file.
Submit any requested document(s) as soon as possible; files are reviewed based on the date the last requested document is received.
An email will be sent to your myClackamas email address when your award offer is available for you to view. You will need to accept or reject any direct loans that are listed in your award offer.
If you have accepted any direct loans, complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Loan Counseling online.

Financial Aid Access and Eligibility
Clackamas Community College has an open access admission policy and welcomes all students who can benefit from the instruction offered, regardless of their educational background. Adult enrollment (18 and older) is unrestricted. A high school diploma or GED is not required for enrollment but is required for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Financial Aid Administrator is responsible for evaluating the validity of a student’s high school completion if the college or the United States Department of Education has reason to believe that the high school diploma is not valid or was not obtained from an entity that provides secondary school education. Students 17 and younger who have not completed high school or obtained a GED must comply with special enrollment requirements.

To access financial aid:
- Submit all requested documents listed in Self Service
- Watch your student email and Self Service for award offer notification
- Review your award offer. Accept or decline any direct loans offered to you. If accepting loans, complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling. Any financial aid offered is split evenly among all terms of attendance. All award offers are based on full-time (12 credits) status.
- Financial aid is disbursed during the third week of each term, following the census date, and then weekly thereafter. Your aid will be adjusted to your enrollment level as of the census date. The actual amount of aid you will receive will be based on the number of degree applicable credits you are enrolled in as of that date. Funds will first be applied to your account to cover any tuition balance.
To be eligible for financial aid disbursement you must:
- Have completed your FAFSA/ORSAA application
- Grants and Scholarships are automatically accepted on your behalf (beware of any minimum credit requirements for your specific funding)
- For Direct Loans:
- Have accepted Direct loans (if applicable)
- Have complete Entrance Counseling
- Have a valid Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Be registered for six (6) or more degree applicable credits
If your financial aid is more than the amount of your tuition and fees, Accounts Receivable will send the excess amount to you in the form of a check or direct deposit. Excess financial aid funds are sent out on the last business day of the week. For fall, winter and spring terms, refunds are sent out on Fridays. For summer term, the refunds are sent out on Thursdays. You can sign up to receive the excess funds via direct deposit, otherwise a check will be mailed to the address you have on file with the college.
The Financial Aid Office will disburse once weekly throughout the term and refund checks or direct deposit refunds will be made the last business day of the week in which the funds are disbursed on your account.
