Art at Clackamas Community College

The Art Department gives students opportunities to explore their artistic potential and develop critical thinking skills with a creative mindset. Our foundational and intermediate classes serve college transfer students and all individuals who seek to develop ideas in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. The Art Department offers courses in:

  • digital and darkroom photography
  • computer graphics
  • metalsmithing
  • art history and appreciation
  • professional practices and gallery management

We also offer a multidimensional exploration of Digital Media. Students interested in Digital Media Communications can explore courses in motion graphics, computer animation, digital film, broadcast journalism and video game design.

The Digital Media Communications program is a two year Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS). This degree is designed to effectively prepare you for a career in the expanding field of digital media. Once you have chosen a focus area there are plenty of opportunities to explore other fields of training and study due to our generous offering of elective courses. Our focus areas include Motion Graphics & Computer Animation, Video Production, Journalism. Web Design, Publishing, Audio & Sound Engineering and Music & Sound for Media.
